tert-Butyl [(3S)-1-({1-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]piperidin-4-yl}carbonyl)pyrrolidin-3-yl]carbamate (0.975 g, 2.21 mmol) was treated with trifluoroacetic acid (5 mL) and methylene chloride (5 mL) for 1 h at room temperature. The solution was concentrated to give 1.75 g of product which was used for the next step without purification.
