Procedure
Triethylamine (190 mg, 1.9 mmol) was added to a stirred solution of 7 (200 mg, 1.6 mmol) in dichloromethane (10 mL) at 0° C. A solution of 2-chloropropionyl chloride (240 mg, 1.9 mmol) diluted in dichloromethane (1 mL) was added dropwise and the reaction mixture stirred at 0° C. for 10 min. The red solution was evaporated to dryness in vacuo and the resulting residue was purified by rapid silica filtration (dichloromethane) to give 8 as a red oil (270 mg, 79%).
