A solution of [4-(3-amino-phenyl)-8-trifluoromethyl-quinolin-3-yl]-phenyl-methanone (100 mg) and dimethyl sulfate (150 mg) in ethanol was stirred at r.t. for 4 hrs. The solution was concentrated and purified by semi-HPLC to give [4-(3-methylamino-phenyl)-8-trifluoromethyl-quinolin-3-yl]-phenyl-methanone as a gum.
