A mixture of 10 parts of 1-(1-ethoxyethylidene)-2-(4-nitrophenyl)hydrazine, 13 parts of morpholine and 135 parts of methylbenzene was stirred and refluxed for 72 hours. The reaction mixture was cooled. The precipitated product was filtered off, washed with methylbenzene and dried, yielding 8 parts (67%) of 1-[1-(4-morpholinyl)ethylidene]-2-(4-nitrophenyl)hydrazine; mp. 175.9° C. (int. 19)
