Reaction Steps
60 g of 4-difluoromethoxybenzophenone are reduced using sodium borohydride in 400 ml of methanol at 40° C. After an hour, the mixture is concentrated to dryness, 1.2 l of water is added to the contents of the flask and the mixture is extracted with chloroform. The organic phase is then dried and concentrated.
