Procedure
To a solution of 3.4 g (13.30 mmol) of 3-fluorophenyl-(3,4,5-trifluorobenzyl)amine (Intermediate I-8) in 25 ml of methylene chloride, cooled at −10° C., was added slowly with stirring a solution of 2.0 g (6.70 mmol) of triphosgene in 15 ml of methylene chloride. The reaction was allowed to warm to room temperature and stirred for 17 hours at this temperature. After this time the solid formed during the process was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo. The obtained residue was treated with n-hexane at −25° C. The soluble part was separated and filtrated. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to dryness to give 2.65 g (62.8%) of the tide product as an oil. The structure was confirmed by 1H-NMR.
