Procedure
To a stirred solution of 0.5 g (2.25 mmol) of 5-amino-2,3-dihydro-indole-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester and 0.4 ml (2.8 mmol) of triethylamine in 20 ml of chloroform 0.7 g (2.6 mmol) of (4-benzyl-piperidin-1-yl)-oxo-acetyl chloride in 10 ml of chloroform is added dropwise at 0° C. The reaction mixture is stirred at room temperature for 1 hour, then washed with water and the organic layer is concentrated. The residue is purified by column chromatography using Kieselgel 60 (Merck) as adsorbent and toluene:methanol=4:1 as eluent to yield 0.9 g (88.7%) of the title compound as solid. The crude product is used in the next step.
