Procedure

A solution of 5-(3-((2-chloro-benzenesulfonyl)-(3-(3-chloro-phenyl)-propyl)-amino)-propyl)-thiophene-2-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester prepared of Example 6, Step A (0.010 g, 0.010 mmol) in 4N HCl in 1,4 dioxane (3 mL) and the reaction was stirred overnight at room temperature. HCl (g) was bubbled in until reaction was determined to be complete by thin layer chromatography. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo. The resulting organic residue was azeotroped with CCl4 to produce a powder (5 mg). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 8.00 (d, 1H, J=4), 7.00-7.72 (m, 8H,), 6.75 (d, 1H, J=4), 3.20-3.40 (m, 4H), 2.81 (m, 2H), 2.52 (m, 2H), 1.90 (m, 2H), 1.80 (m, 2H), 1.20 (m, 2H); MS 509.9 (M−1).
