Reaction Steps
6.45 g of D-glucosamine hydrochloride were dissolved in 30 ml of isopropanol and 10 ml of water at 60° C. and 12.1 g of stearylamine were added. The resulting clear solution was stirred for a further 10 minutes and then cooled down to room temperature. The product which had crystallised out was filtered off with suction and initially washed with ethanol/water (5:2, v/v), then with ethanol and finally with ether. The residue was dried under high vacuum.
