To a solution of 22-5 (0.130 g, 0.246 mmol) in methanol (5 mL) was added paraformaldehyde (0.07 g) and acetic acid (0.071 mL, 1.23 mmol). After stirring at 50° C. for 15 minutes, NaCNBH3 (0.020 g, 0.32 mmol) was added. After stirring 2 hours the solution was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was dissolved in CHCl3 (125 mL) and washed with saturated NaHCO3, dried, and concentrated to afford 22-6 (0.132 g).
