Procedure
0.34 g (0.8 mol) of the ethyl ester from Example 9 were hydrolized in a mixture of 5 ml ethanol and 1 ml 2 N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution according to the procedure from Example 6. A first crop (200 mg) of the title acid crystallized from water/ethanol 1:2. The mother liquid was concentrated, and a second crop (60 mg) was obtained by stirring with a mixture of ethyl acetate and ether. The crystals were filtered and dried in vacuo.
