To a solution of tert-butyl 4-(3-(dimethylcarbamoyloxy)-phenylcarbamoyl)-4-(methoxymethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate from step C (1.03 g, 2.37 mmol) in methanol (10 mL) was added HCl (4 M solution in dioxane, 2 mL). The reaction was heated at 50° C. for 1 hour, and then concentrated under vacuum to provide the title compound as the hydrochloride salt. MS (ES+) [M+H]−=336.3.
