To a solution of tert-butyl 4-(3-(dimethylcarbamoyloxy)-phenylcarbamoyl)-4-(2-methoxyethoxy)-piperidine-1-carboxylate from step C (150 mg, 0.322 mmol) in methanol (2 mL) was added HCl (4 M solution in dioxane, 0.3 mL). The reaction was heated at 50° C. for 1 hour, and then concentrated under vacuum to provide the title compound as the hydrochloride salt. MS (ES+) [M+H]+=366.3.
