Procedure

A methanol (2.0 mL) solution of N,N-dimethyl-2-{(1S,2R)-3,3,3-trifluoro-1,2-dihydroxy-2-[4-(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)phenyl]propyl}-4-{[1-(trifluoromethyl)cyclopropyl]methyl}-1H-imidazole-1-sulfonamide (20.2 mg, 0.036 mmol) was charged with concentrated hydrochloric acid (0.5 mL, 6.0 mmol) and heated to 70° C. After the starting material has been all consumed, the reaction mixture was quenched by sodium bicarbonate and extracted with dichloromethane/ethyl acetate. The combined organic extracts were concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound. (M+H) found 461.
