Procedure
A mixture of EXAMPLE 514B (1.32 g) and 1.0 N tetrabutyl ammonium fluoride (10.4 mL) in tetrahydrofuran (15 mL) was stirred for 2 hours. The solvent was removed, and the residue was partitioned between water and ethyl acetate. The organic layer was separated, and the aqueous layer was extracted with additional ethyl acetate. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated. The residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel using 10% ethyl acetate in hexanes as eluent to give the title compound.
