Cs2CO3 (244.4 mg, 0.75 mmol) was added to a solution of 4-chloro-2,5-difluoro-N-(2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridin-4-yl)benzamide (71.2 mg, 0.25 mmol) and 2-chloro-4-fluorophenol (109.9 mg, 0.75 mmol) in DMF (2 mL) and the reaction was stirred at 100° C. for 1 hours. The reaction was filtered and purified by reverse phase HPLC using a gradient of acetonitrile in water (10-99%) and HCl as a modifier to yield 4-chloro-2-(2-chloro-4-fluorophenoxy)-5-fluoro-N-(2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridin-4-yl)benzamide (109) (22.8 mg, 27%). ESI-MS m/z calc. 410.00. found 411.2 (M+1)+; Retention time: 1.76 minutes (3 minutes run).
