TFA (10 mL) was added to a stirred solution of 4-(5-furo[3,2-c]pyridin-2-yl-[1,2,4]oxadiazol-3-ylmethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (Example 44, 1.76 g, 4.56 mmol) in anhydrous CH2Cl2 (20 mL). After 1 h, the solvents were removed under reduced pressure. The residue was taken up in CH2Cl-MeOH (9:1, 100 mL), before being washed with 2M NaOH (100 mL). The aqueous phase was extracted with CH2Cl2-MeOH (9:1, 2×100 mL), then the organic extracts were combined, dried (MgSO4), and concentrated to furnish the title compound: m/z (ES+)=285.0 [M+H]+.
