Procedure

tert-Butyl 4-[2-(6-iodo-1-oxo-1,3-dihydro-2-benzofuran-5-yl)ethyl]piperazine-1-carboxylate was prepared in an analogous fashion to that described for the preparation of tert-butyl 4-[2-(4-iodo-1-oxo-1,3-dihydro-2-benzofuran-5-yl)ethyl]piperazine-1-carboxylate above starting from 5-(2-hydroxyethyl)-6-iodo-2-benzofuran-1(3H)-one. LC-MS (IE, m/z): 473 [M+1]+.
