A solution of tert-butyl 4-[2-(3-methyl-1-oxo-3,4-dihydro-1H-isochromen-6-yl)ethyl]piperazine-1-carboxylate (850 mg, 2.27 mmol) was stirred in 4N HCl in Dioxane for 4 hours. The excess solvent was then removed to give the free amine as the HCl salt. LC-MS (IE, m/z): 275 [M+1]+.
