Procedure
HATU (201 mg, 0.528 mmol) and Et3N (0.127 ml, 0.913 mmol) were successively added to a suspension of 3-[2-(2H-indazol-2-yl)nicotinamido]-2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutanoic acid (200 mg, 0.480 mmol) and cyclopropylamine (0.034 ml, 0.48 mmol) in dichloromethane (50 ml) at 5° C., and the mixture was stirred for 5 minutes. A pH of 10 was adjusted by adding Et3N (0.1 ml, 0.720 mmol), stirring was continued for 1 hour at 5° C. and then overnight at room temperature. The reaction mixture was then concentrated under reduced pressure and poured into 50 ml of water. The precipitate formed was filtered off with suction and dried in vacuo to give 136 mg of the title compound as a white solid.
