To a solution of (R)-3-[1-(1,4-dimethyl-1H-indol-3-ylmethyl)-5-methyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydro-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-3-yl]-3-phenyl-propionic acid ethyl ester (200 mg, 0.41 mmol) in MeOH (5 mL) was added 2N NaOH (2 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was then treated with 1N HCl and extracted with CH2Cl2 twice. The combined organic phase was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated. The resulting residue was purified by silica gel preparative TLC using 95:5 CH2Cl2:MeOH as an eluent to afford 144 mg (76%) of the title compound as off-white solid. LCMS, M++1, m/z: 455.00.
