Procedure

4.0 M Hydrogen chloride in 1,4-dioxane (1.0 mL, 4.0 mmol) was added to a solution of tert-butyl {1-[3-chloro-1-(3-fluorophenyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-2-yl]ethyl}carbamate (26 mg, 0.067 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (1.0 mL). The reaction was stirred at room temperature overnight. The mixture was then partitioned between EtOAc and water. The aqueous layer was adjusted to pH 9 with saturated NaHCO3 solution and then extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were dried over MgSO4 and concentrated to give the desired amine (7 mg, 40%). LCMS calculated for C15H14ClFN3(M+H)+: m/z=290.1. Found: 290.0.
