To a solution of the title compound of Step A (265 mg, 1.09 mmol) in THF (4 mL) was added 2 N NaOH (2 mL). The mixture was heated at 50° C. for 72 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo to a white solid which was used without further purification in subsequent steps. MS (ESI) mass calcd. for C12H10N2O3, 230.1; m/z found 231.1 [M+H]+. 1H NMR (500 MHz, DMSO-d6) 12.63 (s, 1H), 8.86 (d, J=4.9 Hz, 2H), 7.77 (dd, J=7.9, 1.0 Hz, 1H), 7.51 (t, J=8.1 Hz, 1H), 7.45 (t, J=4.9 Hz, 1H), 7.25 (dd, J=8.4, 1.0 Hz, 1H), 3.83 (s, 3H).
