Procedure

To the title compound of step A (125 mg, 0.4 mmol) in DCM (3 mL) was added TFA (3 mL). After starting material was consumed, the reaction was concentrated, neutralized with 5% Na2CO3 and extracted with DCM. The combined organics were dried (Na2SO4) to give the title compound that was used in subsequent reactions without further purification. MS (ESI) mass calcd. for C12H18N4, 218.2; m/z found 219.2 [M+H]+.
