A solution of 2-((4-fluoro-3-nitrophenoxy)methyl)benzo[d]thiazole (1.9 g, 6.4 mmol), 4-bromobenzylamine hydrochloride (2.1 g, 9.6 mmol), DIPEA (5.5 mL, 31.9 mmol) and acetonitrile (10 mL) was added to a sealed tube and heated to reflux for 16 h. The reaction was cooled to 0° C. and solid product precipitated. Solids were collected by vacuum filtration, washed with cold acetonitrile (10 mL) and dried in vacuum oven at 60° C. This material was used without purification. MS (ESI): mass calcd. for C21H16BrN3O3S, 469.10; m/z found, 470.1 [M+H]+. 1H-NMR (500 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 8.67-8.53 (m, 1H), 8.12 (d, J=7.9, 1H), 8.02 (d, J=8.1, 1H), 7.74 (d, J=3.1, 1H), 7.56-7.52 (m, 2H), 7.48-7.43 (m, 1H), 7.37-7.34 (m, 1H), 7.31 (d, J=8.4, 2H), 6.89 (d, J=9.5, 1H), 5.58 (s, 2H), 4.60 (d, J=6.2, 2H).
