To a solution of tert-butyl[(3S,5S,6R)-6-methyl-5-phenyl-2-thioxopiperidin-3-yl]carbamate (75 mg, 0.23 mmol) in ethanol (2.3 mL) was added 1-amino-4,4,4-trifluorobutan-2-ol hydrochloride (105 mg, 0.59 mmol), mercury(II) chloride (83 mg, 0.30 mmol), and triethylamine (78 μL, 0.56 mmol). The mixture was stirred 30 min, filtered, and then concentrated, giving the crude title compound. MS 430.3 (M+1).
