At room temperature, diisopropyl azodicarboxylate (980 μl, 5 mmol) was slowly added to a mixture of (R)-cyclopentylhydroxyphenylacetic acid (1.1 g, 5 mmol), (R)-3-hydroxypyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid t-butyl ester (1.0 g, 5.5 mmol), and triphenyl-phosphine (1.3 g, 5 mmol) in 10 ml of THF. The reaction mixture was then stirred at room temperature overnight.
