To a stirred solution of 3-(1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-indazol-5-yl)-2,2,3-trimethylbutanamide (159 mg, 0.47 mmol) in anhydrous THF (5 mL) was added a solution of LAH (1 M in diethylether, 1 mL, 1 mmol) under nitrogen at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at the same temperature for 1 hr and at rt for 22 hr. After an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (1 M, 10 mL) was added slowly, the mixture was stirred for 0.5 hr and filtered through a pad of celite that was then rinsed with dichloromethane. The filtrate was extracted with dichloromethane (4×10 mL). The combined extracts were dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated in vacuo to give 3-(1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1H-indazol-5-yl)-2,2,3-trimethylbutan-1-amine (173 mg; 0.53 mmol, 110% yield) as a yellow foam solid that was used as such without further purification.
