Procedure

100 mg (0.33 mmol) of 3-[4-(3-fluoro-benzyloxy)-phenyl]-but-2-enoic acid methylamide is dissolved in 7 ml methanol. 25 mg of platinum 5% on charcoal is added and the mixture is hydrogenated at RT and normal pressure. The catalyst is filtered off and the filtrate evaporated to dryness, leaving 81 mg of a colorless solid. MS: m/e=302.3 (M++H).
