Procedure

To a solution of (1,1-dimethylethyl)1-[(3R)-3-[4-(3-pyridinyl)-1H-imidazol-1-yl]butyl]-2-hydrazinecarboxylate (32) in methanol is added 6N hydrochloric acid. The reaction is heated to 50° C. and stirred 18 h.
