A mixture of 2-8 (1.4 g, 6.03 mmol) and 10% Pd/carbon (1 g) in EtOH (30 mL) was stirred under a balloon of hydrogen for 18 h. Filtration and evaporative removal of the solvent gave 2-9 as a white solid.
