3-Cyano-4-[(1-methylethyl)oxy]benzoyl chloride (D106) (0.398 mmol) in acetonitrile (3.00 ml) at room temperature was treated with ethyl 3-{4-[(hydroxyamino)(imino)methyl]-1H-indazol-1-yl}-2,2-dimethylpropanoate (D103) (101 mg, 0.332 mmol) followed by triethylamine (0.069 ml, 0.498 mmol). The resulting yellow solution was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr, refluxed overnight, for a further 24 hours and again overnight then cooled to room temperature and concentrated in vacuo. Purification of the residue by flash chromatography on silica gel [gradient ethyl acetate/cyclohexane] gave the title compound (107 mg, 68%) as a colourless solid. MS (ES) C26H27N5O4 requires 473, found 474 [M+H]+
