Procedure
Compound 35.13 (50 mg, 0.1 mmol) was dissolved in a 10% solution of acetic anhydride in acetic acid (2.2 mL). Concentrated sulfuric acid was added and the mixture was stirred at r.t. for 2 h. The mixture was then poured into a 5% aqueous solution of NaHCO3 (100 mL) containing 50 g of ice. The aqueous phase was then extracted with 2×100 mL CH2Cl2. The extracts were combined, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was subjected to a silica gel column chromatography to give compound 35.14 (60 mg, 95% yield).
