Procedure
The crude isopropyl (8-((4-fluorophenyl)(methyl)amino)-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyrazin-3-yl)carbamate was treated with 5N KOH aq (1 mL) and dioxane (2 mL). The mixture was heated to 125° C. for 48 hours then treated with 5N HCl (1 mL). The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to afford N8-(4-fluorophenyl)-N8-methyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyrazine-3,8-diamine which could be purified by reverse phase column chromatography. LCMS: 245 [M+H+].
