Procedure
4-Fluoro-3-nitroaniline (1, 1 g, 1 equiv.) and morpholine (1.67 g, 3 equiv.) were dissolved in THF (10 mL). The reaction mixture was heated at reflux overnight. After cooling, water/brine (10 mL) was added, the mixture was agitated, and the layers were separated. The organic phase was dried over sodium sulfate, and the solvent was removed via rotary evaporation. The material was purified by flash chromatography using 0-40% gradient of heptane/EtOAc to give 800 mg of 3 as an orange-red solid.
