Compound 177 (47 mg, 0.099 mmol) was stirred in a solution of DCM (0.8 mL) and TFA (0.200 mL) for 1 hour. After the usual work-up 2-(2-methoxyphenyl)-7-(1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridin-4-yl)-5-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole was obtained (34 mg, 0.091 mmol, 92% yield).
