Reaction Steps
15.6 g of 4-methylthiazole was dissolved in 50 ml of anhydrous acetone. The mixture was added with 15 g of chloroacetic acid, stirred for 5 d, filtered to obtain a solid, and a white solid was then obtained by recrystallization from ethanol, dired to obtain 20.4 g product with a yield of 66.9%, mP=262.3-263.6° C.
