To 50 mL of POCl3 was added 2-(2-Fluorophenyl)-7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-imidazo[1,2-c]-quinazolin-5(6H)-one (600 mg) and the resultant mixture was refluxed for 48 h. The mixture was then cooled and the POCl3 was removed in vacuo. To the residue was added 20 mL of water and the pH adjusted to 7 with ammonium hydroxide. After cooling, the precipitated solid was collected to yield 5-Chloro-2-(2-fluorophenyl)-7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-imidazo[1,2-c]-quinazoline (Compound 30). m.p. 175°-176° C.
