Procedure
Triethylamine (0.211 ml, 1.513 mmol) was added to a solution of 5-Benzoyl-6-(bromomethyl)-1,3-dimethylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione (Intermediate C) (510 mg, 1.513 mmol) and 2-tritylsulfanyl-ethylamine (Intermediate D) (483 mg, 1.513 mmol) in EtOH (5 ml) and the mixture heated at 100° C. under microwave irradiation for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was diluted with DCM (10 mL) and was washed with water (3×10 mL). The organic phase was passed through a hydrophobic frit and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The title product was obtained as a pale yellow solid and used without further purification.
