A mixture of 4-(benzyloxy)-1-(2-ethyl-1-methyl-1H-benzimidazol-6-yl)pyridin-2(1H)-one (3.5 mg), Pd/C (10%, 700 mg) and MeOH (10 ml) was stirred under H2 atmosphere at room temperature for 2 h. The insoluble material was removed by filtration, and the filtrate was concentrated to give the title compound (1.6 g) as a white solid.
