A mixture of 4-(benzyloxy)-1-(1,2-dimethyl-1H-benzimidazol-6-yl)pyridin-2(1H)-one (627 mg), 10% Pd/C (193 mg) and MeOH (10 ml) was stirred under H2 atmosphere at room temperature for 1 h. The catalyst was removed by filtration, and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound (421 mg) as white crystals.
