Dissolve 1H-pyrazole-4-carboxaldehyde (0.150 g, 1.56 mmol) in DCM (5 mL). Add triethylamine (240 μL, 1.72 mmol) and 1,2-dimethyl-1H-imidazole-4-sulfonyl chloride (0.334 g, 1.72 mmol). Stir at ambient temperature for 18 hr. Concentrate, and purify via silica gel chromatography, eluting with 50:50 to 100:0 ethyl acetate:hexanes to give the title preparation (317 mg, 80%). GC-MS: m/z=254 [M+].
