Diethylaminosulfur trifluoride (7.6 g, 47.4 mmol) was added to a suspension of compound 34 (1.5 g, 3.16 mmol) in dry THF (150 mL). The mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 16 h and then cooled to room temperature. The mixture was quenched by the addition of saturated aqueous NaHCO3 solution and then extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phase was washed with brine, dried (Na2SO4) and evaporated to dryness under reduced pressure. Purification by silica gel chromatography [petroleum ether:ethyl acetate (4:1)] afforded 39 as a brown solid (700 mg, 46%). LC-MS (M+H)+=477.4
