To a solution of compound 60 (3.45 g, 11.2 mmol) in THF (44 mL) was added dropwise 4-ethoxyphenyl magnesium bromide (0.5 M in THF, 44.8 mL, 22.4 mmol) at 0° C. under an atmosphere of nitrogen. After being stirred for 15 hours at room temperature, the mixture was quenched with 1 N HCl (10 mL). The mixture was extracted with EtOAc (100 mL). The organic layer was dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography to afford the product 61 (3.92 g, 99%) as a white solid.
