To a solution of (2R,3R,4R,5S,6S)-3,4,5-tris(benzyloxy)-2-(benzyloxymethyl)-6-(4-chloro-3-((2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-5-yl)methyl)phenyl)- tetrahydro-2H-pyran (122) (425 mg, 0.56 mmol) in THF:MeOH (v/v=1:1)(8 mL) at room temperature was added Pd/C. The mixture was stirred under H2 for 2 h, Pd/C was removed by filtration and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The crude product was purified by preparative HPLC to furnish the title compound (42 mg, 0.10 mmol, 18%).
