Procedure
A solution of 1 g of 3-amino-6-chloro-4H- pyrido[4,3-e][1,2,4]thiadiazine 1,1-dioxide monohydrate (compound obtained in Example 31 below) in 30 cm3 of 50% v/v H2SO4 in water is brought to reflux for 15 minutes. After cooling, the solution is thinned down with 300 cm3 of ice-cold water and then neutralized to a pH of 7 using solid NaHCO3. The white crystalline precipitate obtained is collected on a filter, washed with water and dried.
