2-(2,2-Dimethyl-5-oxo-[1,3]-dioxolan-4-ylidene)-N-methoxy-N-(4-methoxybenzyl)-acetamide was treated with methanol as described in the preparation of Compound 44-D and gave the title ester as white crystals (56% yield); mp 87–89° C. 1HNMR 400 MHz (CDCl3) δ (ppm): 3.67 (3H, s, OCH3), 3.80 (3H, s, OCH3), 3.89 (3H, s, OCH3), 4.77 (2H, s, NCH2), 6.44 (1H, s, CH), 6.87 (2H, m, aromatics), 7.26 (2H, m, aromatics). Anal. calcd for C14H17NO6: C, 56.94; H, 5.80; N, 4.74. Found: C, 57.03; H, 5.82; N, 4.68.
