N-(2,4-Difluorobenzyl)-2-(2,2-dimethyl-5-oxo-[1,3]-dioxolan-4-ylidene)-N-methoxy-acetamide was treated with methanol as described in the preparation of Compound 44-D and gave the title ester as white crystals (55% yield); mp 104–105° C. 1HNMR 400 MHz (CDCl3) δ (ppm): 3.73 (3H, s, OCH3), 3.89 (3H, s, OCH3), 4.87 (2H, s, NCH2), 6.45 (1H, s, CH), 6.8–6.9 (2H, m, aromatics), 7.31–7.37 (1H, m, aromatic). Anal. calcd for C13H13F2NO5: C, 51.83; H, 4.35; N, 4.65. Found: C, 51.68; H, 4.27; N, 4.53.
