2-(2,2-Dimethyl-5-oxo-[1,3]-dioxolan-4-ylidene)-N-(3-fluoro-4-methylbenzyl)-N-methoxy-acetamide, prepared using the methods described in the previous examples, was treated with methanol as described in the preparation of Compound 44-C and gave the title ester as white crystals (49% yield); mp 88° C. 1HNMR 400 MHz (CDCl3) δ (ppm): 2.25 (3H, d, J=1.5 Hz, CH3), 3.70 (3H, s, OCH3), 3.90 (3H, s, OCH3), 4.78 (2H, s, NCH2), 6.47 (1H, s, CH), 6.96 (2H, m, aromatics), 7.26 (1H, m, aromatic). HRMS (MAB N2) calculated for C14H16FNO5, [M]+: 297.101251. found: 297.101261.
