n-Butyryl chloride (120 μl, 0.73 mmol) was added to a solution of 5-phenyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridazin-3-ylamine (Description 8; 100 mg, 0.47 mmol) in pyridine (0.5 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at reflux for 16 hours, then allowed to cool. The solution was acidified to pH 1 with 5N HCl, and the resulting solids were filtered and dried. Purification by column chromatography (5% MeOH/CHCl3) afforded the title compound as a solid.
